"Happy Holidays"

What the heck is wrong with our society??? Last time I checked the reason we had December 25 th off from work or celebrated during this time of year was because it was CHRISTmas? We have become so politically correct with our "Happy Holidays" and "Holiday Trees" that it is enough to make even Santa toss his cookies! Just in case the moonbats weren't aware more than 80 % of this country is Christian. If it is so offensive to say "Merry Christmas" or have "In God We Trust" on our money then I have an easy solution to their problems: GO TO WORK ON CHRISTMAS DAY and give ME all that tainted "God-stained"money and I will take care and use it for you.

Why gun control is "BAD!"

Lately, I've REALLY tried to understand the reasoning behind those who want to further restrict gun ownership in the US. But I just don't get it. To me, gun control only disarms those who already respect the law. After all, its already a felony to use a gun during a crime and as its also illegal for felons to own or possess weapons. I'm fairly confident that criminals who are preparing to commit crimes don't think to themselves, "damn, I'm going to commit a crime and its against the law for me to use or possess a firearm while committing this crime. I'll have to find some other way." So I ask, what's the sense of more gun control? Many of our gun control laws are already overly strict.

Let's be honest, more gun control (and most existing gun control) only disarms law-abiding citizens and does nothing to get guns out of the hands of criminals. It just makes the rest of us unable to defend ourselves with deadly force when necessary.

An interesting story about gun control: http://www.jdl.org/misc/up_close/alive.shtml

Politics as usual

The presidential primary season is about to start in earnest. This time of year has made me seriously consider who I will cast my vote for come the Florida primary. On the democratic side I see nothing but an increase in socialism and government control over our daily lives, especially the economic aspects of our lives. However, I am a registered republican which means that I can only vote for one of the remaining 7 candidates with an "R" after their names. Unfortunately, most of the republican candidates seem to be merely a continuation of the current Bush administration (which I have become very disappointed in) and all have some degree of RINO status (republican in name only).

Currently, the only candidate which I can see voting for is Ron Paul. I like his fiscal policy, his anti-gun control stance and his want to pull us out of the UN and protect American sovereignty. Unfortunately, there is a lot of controversy surrounding Ron Paul, not to mention he consistently draws single digits in the polls. So, it looks as if I will end up voting for Dr. Paul in the primary and the republican candidate in the general election.
