More bad logic for gun control

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has come down in favor of Washington D.C.'s gun ban in the D.C. vs. Heller case.

The ADL then had this to say: according to a recent ADL press release: "This case is about allowing states to protect their citizens' lives, liberty and property by regulating the purchase and possession of firearms. Gun violence and the caching of dangerous weapons are commonplace among extremists. If states lose the right to regulate firearm ownership, it would help violent bigots in their efforts to create an America based on hate and intolerance. We urge the Supreme Court to ensure that states have the tools to counter these agents of hate. We are also deeply concerned about the possession and use of firearms by children. The Court must permit states to keep guns out of the hands of those who would bring violence to our schools. The regulation of firearms is a rational response to these twin evils and is consistent with the Second Amendment's call for a well-regulated militia."

While the ADL does a lot of good things, on this particular issue I must call "bullshit!"

Whatever happened to citizens being able to protect themselves?? Why does everyone want to rely on the government to take care of them?? People who are bent on killing due to bigotry (or any other reason) are not going to worry about breaking an additional law that regulates firearms. I thought that it was already illegal to use a firearm to commit a crime. We ARE NOT going to legislate the removal of firearms from these psychos who want to kill to "cleanse" our society of people like myself. Gun control DOES NOT DISARM THESE PEOPLE!!!!

All gun control does is disarm law-abiding responsible citizens like myself. When my family and I encounter these racist scum, or any other people who want to do harm, I'd prefer to be able to fight fire with fire by being armed.

When did the "state" EVER have the right to do anything, much less limit our Constitutionally and God guaranteed rights? Governments have no rights, only powers, that we grant to them. They serve us, correct? We need to sound the alarm, vote the worthless baggage that is the Congress and Senate out in 2010, drop the Obamessiah for the empty suit that he is and force McCain to the right by keeping the pressure on him.

Those tools already exist. It is the MILITIA that the 2nd Amendment speaks of. The militia, meaning you and I, are we what needs to be defended against? Is this what I am hearing here in their comment?

Contrast: Those flooded out by Katrina and those flooded out by rains and river expansion in the Mid-west.
The Katrina example. A population heavily dependent on Gov handouts to see it through. This is how the leftists see the people of our great nation, as sheep needing and wanting the Shepherd.
The Mid-West example, how I as a Constitutionalist see Americans ... tough, not giving ground, working hard to keep what they have established with their own hands and blood and sweat!
These are the people, coupled with the divine rights guaranteed by our Bill of Rights, which includes GUNS, that the left see as opposition to their socialist movement trash. And they are correct.
Now, will Americans wake up in time to all of the elitist, socialist vulgarity being served them?

"We are also deeply concerned about the possession and use of firearms by children."-->

They should see my fourteen year old daughter on the range with them ... that would really get their concerned little fascist hearts bleeding.

Excellent post! I could not have said it better myself. The comparison between Katrina and the mid-West is spot on! We do need to wake up and realize that our rights are slowly being taken from us. Unfortunately, we are not in the majority and if we are in the majority, the majority is awfully silent.
