McCain is no conservative

John McCain is not a conservative. There are a number of things he has done in the past that make him more of a liberal than anything else. And as far as I am concerned, I don't give a shit if he has a temper. That, to me, is irrelevant. What is relevant is his intense liberal streak.

Most important, he is not rated very highly by the Gun Owners of America, scoring an F-- in 2006.

He can't make up his mind about tax cuts, although he seems to be embracing them now to get elected.

And of course, there is McCain's stance on global warming.

Robert Novak questions McCain's "conservativism."

An EXCELLENT summary of my issues with McCain on Blandlife.com.

Freedom fighters, my ass!

Fine, the palestinians hate the evil world controlling Joooooooooos but its sickening when they go out of the way to attack defenseless civilians. For instance, pali commie scumbags recently attacked a high school in Israel. What a bunch of gutless cowards attacking Jews who probably aren't even old enough to form coherent opinions about the Israeli government's policies. And if they have formed opinions they're probably all bleeding heart "give them a state" liberals.

Two interesting pictures which, in my opinion, highlight the differences between the terrorists and the Israeli Defense Forces.

McCain wins Florida

I always thought that Florida was a pretty conservative state. Apparently, I was wrong. Now I know that many will disagree with me but I often think that McCain is in the wrong party. Now that I think of it, too many republicans might be in the wrong political party. I was pulling for Romney but many news outlets are calling the Florida primary for McCain (Rino).

With the Florida Presidential primary this coming Tuesday and Super Tuesday fast approaching, I'd like to repost the NRA website that lists the presidential candidate's stances on the Second Amendment:http://www.nravalues.org/

Kenyan Chaos

In addition to my watching the upcoming Florida primary, I've been keeping an eye on what has been going on in Kenya. After a heavily disputed presidential election, Kenya has descended into chaos reminiscent of Rwanda in the early 1990's.

Gunfire Rings Out in West Kenyan Streets; At Least 25 Bodies Taken to Mortuary

There are many reports of defenseless people having their homes burned down and family members being killed solely based on which ethnic group to which they belong (and thus assumed presidential choice). Whole towns have been torched and places of refuge have been attacked and burned. All the reports say the Kenyan military and police are trying to restore order. The police and military may be trying very hard to maintain order however, it is apparent that the peace can't be kept everywhere. There are also a few reports of the military being complicit in some of the violence.

I am often accused of having a one track mind (guns, guns, guns and complaining about excessive government control over our daily lives), so, not surprisingly, I decided to look into the gun laws in Kenya because it seems that many of these poor people are defenseless. If I had a mob of anyone threatening my family its pretty obvious I would stand my ground as long as possible and do everything imaginable to protect my wife and 2 children.

I can't seem to find much regarding Kenyan gun control but I did find articles that stated that in Kenya, "All guns are banned, including toys guns that look like guns" and "In both countries (Kenya and Uganda) gun possession is illegal except for a politically favored elite."

There are many instances of where I believe that Africans could (have) better defend(ed) themselves and their families were it not for government bans on civilian gun ownership. Rwanda, Uganda and Darfur often come to mind.

Just to be clear, I am in support of average law-abiding citizens having the right to own firearms. I am in favor of some of the current laws where felons cannot own guns and where the commission of certain crimes with guns provide for greater penalties (as for murder, murder is murder whether it be by machete, vehicular or firearm, no need for "gun control" there). But I see no reason why law-abiding citizens cannot own weapons for target shooting or self-defense. And in my one track mind's opinion, most gun control only disarms law-abiding citizens.

Asshat blows up too early

I abhor people who would blow themselves to prove a political point or to kill groups of people out of hatred or bigotry. However, I do find it incredibly funny when some scumbag decides to attempt to carry out a homicide bombing, blows himself up before reaching the intended target and kills only himself and not the intended victims. A severe case of premature detonation. I wonder if there is a pharmaceutical for that.

Calculus sucks and some gun stuff

I am in the middle of studying what might be one of the most aggravating subjects in the world: calculus. So I haven't had much time for posting as I have a quiz tomorrow night and an exam fast approaching.

Anyway, here is a thought from one of our founding fathers. Wise words indeed.

McCain wins SC

Was South Carolina one of those states where Democrats could cross over and vote for Republican candidates? Because if the answer is no, then there must be a lot of RINOs (Republicans in name only) who voted for McCain. I always thought SC was a fairly conservative state and McCain is no conservative.

Foxnews: McCain wins South Carolina

Apparently, for a number of previous elections, the winner of SC has gone on to win the Republican nomination for president. I pray that this trend stops here.

Global warming update

I'm not too sure about how much more of this global warming I can take. After listening to Al Gore I got rid of all of my warm clothing so I'd be more comfortable as the mercury began to climb. But for some stupid reason, I keep reading reports of snow and cold across the country and world. Something isn't adding up correctly.

GWB and his "legacy"

From my reading of George W. Bush's trip to the middle east, it appears that he is trying to create his presidential legacy by forcing a peace treaty between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

Report: Bush ordered IDF to be used to soften Hamas in Gaza for Abbas

Bush is pressing Israel to send the Israeli Defense Forces into certain parts of Gaza, on a limited scale, to "soften up" hamas (but not to stop daily rocket attacks on Israeli civilians). After hamas is softened up the other palestinian terrorists can then come in and take over (i.e. fatah and the holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas). Then the Israelis will be pressured into more "land-for-peace" bullshit.

I'm getting sick and tired of the US dictating to the Israelis what they can do, both politically and militarily. All the Jew-haters I know tell me that the "evil Jooooooooooooooos" run the American government. However, based on how the US government is continually tying the hands of the Israelis and the IDF in their war on terror, I have to respectfully disagree.

DC vs. Heller

Over the last few days I have been reading up on the upcoming DC vs. Heller case. In this case, the SCOTUS will decide whether a Washington, D.C. ban on handgun ownership violates the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

One pro-gun group, of which I am a member (Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership), sent an email to their members with some very relevant information for us gun owners. To summarize their analysis, using text from their email:

"1) The Second Amendment protects your unalienable right to
self-defense and freedom from violent harm;

2) What part of "shall not be infringed" do the victim disarmers fail
to understand?

3) "Well regulated" means well-trained and disciplined, not limited
or controlled by government;

4) Your First Amendment rights, and all others, are protected by the
Second;

5) Government can only earn legitimate authority by upholding rights
and ensuring justice;

6) Before any government becomes a full-blown tyranny, it must first
disarm the people."

At the bottom of the email is the following message with a link to a much more in-depth analysis:

"Save your rights. Please send the article we've linked to -
http://www.jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/six-about-2nd.htm -
to every gun-owner in the world."

The upcoming DC vs. Heller case is going to be BIG for gun owners. Its worth watching.

My favorite carry piece

Here's a pic of my favorite "carry" weapon, my .45 caliber Taurus PT-145 Millenium Pro. Although Taurus may have had some issues with their semi-automatics in the past, this weapon has performed exceptionally well at the range. It shoots anything I feed it (I must have put over 2,000 rounds through it by now and no misfires, even with crappy ammo).

For the purposes of personal protection, I carry Federal Hydra-Shok hollow points.

Maybe Obama is right on something

The topic came up in the democratic half of the debate last night: Obama reiterated his call to take out al qaeda in Pakistan if we had "actionable intelligence." I don't agree with Obama on much but this is one thing that I can agree with him on.

The Pakistani government has repeatedly denied our requests to go and get that scumbag Bin Laden and his cronies who are hiding out in the NW regions of Pakistan along the Afghani border. Foxnews: Pakistan will deny U.S. operations to hunt al qaeda on its soil.

Right now, I'm hoping that GWB grows some nads and we go in and get Al Qeada. Of course we would have to make sure Pakistan's nukes remain secure in the chaos that would ensue after an American strike on Pakistani soil. However, there has been so much chaos in Pakistan as of late, I'm not sure it could get much worse.

Two things to mention in this post:

2) One of these regulars, Capt. capsize, has informed us of a website that has information about where all of our favorite presidential candidates stand on the second amendment: http://www.nravalues.org/. Thanks for the link capt!

Stupid global warming!

According to many the greatest threat to humanity is global warming. Its such a threat that the incredibly efficient and fair-minded UN has even taken up the issue! Personally, I would have figured that a more pressing issue might be something like terrorism and the subjugation of women in many Muslim countries.

At last check it was 31.5 degrees, wait, make that 31.2 degrees, in my backyard. This global warming has gotten so bad that I'm now going to have to go outside and cover my citrus trees in order to protect them from a global-warming-induced frost.
